South Carolina Association of Community Residential Programs (SCACRP) was founded in 1975 with the goal of developing high quality community residential programs.

SCACRP was established with the goal of developing quality community residential programs in the state of South Carolina. The Association encompasses the four regions of the state, and officers were elected from these regions. The Association’s members and officers come from both private and public sectors and represent a spectrum of social services.

Our member organizations provide a variety of residential care services including, chronic illness, mental illness, substance abuse, diabetes care, Alzheimer care, and case/care management. Through its regional and statewide conferences, the Association has endeavored to reach its goals. The Association is nationally acclaimed as the only Association of community residential facilities with such a broad base of membership and support.

Member Application

SCACRP was chartered as a private, non-profit organization with the following purposes:

  • To foster and encourage the development of high quality community residential programs throughout the state.
  • To encourage alternatives to institutionalization and/or incarceration.
  • To develop and implement a program of public information, education.
  • To assist its members to function more effectively through the exchange of information, support, and consultation, and the study of treatment alternatives.
  • To promote and maintain standards for quality within community based residential programs.

Programs and Objectives

Special Mailings: guides to upcoming events, includes articles of professional interest, summarizes annual conference, and provides information on issues and concerns.

Training Workshops/Seminars: Regional workshops/Seminars to improve service delivery and to be an instrument for staff training and development.
